Adult Education

An integral part of our mission is to educate people of the local community in the sustainable home and gardening crafts practiced at Camp Joy. To that end, we offer a number of full and half-day workshops for adults every year. The event calendar, published each Winter describes the year's schedule. Subjects taken up in our workshops vary from year to year, but typically include topics such as beekeeping, food preserving, wreath making and seed saving. Most programs are taught by Camp Joy's permanent gardeners, but we occasionally also offer workshops taught by guest instructors.

Adults who wish to learn more about organic gardening on an ongoing basis are also encouraged to join us on Thursdays between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM from May through September, when we invite interested community members to work with us, ask questions, and enjoy the garden.
